This may be a Manhattan, but it’s no project. The Smokey Manhattan is inspired by Oppenheimer. While there were copious martini’s consumed throughout the movie, a Smokey Manhattan felt more fitting for a cocktail inspired by the movie.
Let’s make an Oppenheimer inspired Smokey Manhattan
- 2oz Bourbon Whiskey
- 1oz sweet / red vermouth
- 2-3 dashes of orange or regular bitters
- 2 Luxardo Maraschino cocktail cherries
- Cherry wood chips
Directions:
- 1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice
- Combine bourbon, vermouth, orange bitters
- Shake vigorously
- Pour into a low glass
- Place smoker lid on glass, fill with cherry wood and torch chips until smoke is visible
- Serve with smoke rolling off the top
